The 29th International Conference on Computational and Experimental Science Engineering ICCES2023 was successfully held on 26-29 May 2023 in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Professor Zhongqiang Zhang of the School of Mechanics was invited to organise the session on Micro nano Fluidics and Fluid-Solid Interfaces (S61: Mechanics in Micro nano Fluidics and Fluid-Solid Interfaces) and attended the award dinner. After the selection by the ICCES Committee, five young scholars, Prof. Zhongqiang Zhang from Jiangsu University, Prof. Ruowen Zhang from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Jun Yin from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Prof. Mimi Xiao from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Zhuojia Fu from Hohai University, were awarded with the ICCES Outstanding Young Researcher Award (S61: Mechanics in Micro nano Fluidics and Fluid-Solid Interfaces). ICCES Outstanding Young Researcher Award, Professor Zhang Aman of Harbin Engineering University presented the award to the five winners.

The International Conference on Computational and Experimental Science Engineering (ICCES) is one of the major series of international academic conferences with international impact, founded in 1986 by Professor Satya N. Atluri, who enjoys an excellent reputation in the international research field of computational and experimental science. It consists of scientific, technical and renowned researchers from academia, industry and government worldwide. The Congress has been successfully held twenty-eight times so far in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, making it an internationally renowned academic event.

It is reported that the conference, with the theme of "AI Leads the Way to Create the Future", gathered scholars, professors, senior engineers and industry experts from all over the world. The conference has received strong support from the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University and other universities and related colleges/departments. The Honorary Chair of the conference is Academician Satya N. Atluri of Texas Tech University, the General Chair of the conference is Professor Shaofan Li of University of California, Berkeley, and the Co-Chairs are Academician Xiangsheng Chen of Shenzhen University and Professor Yijun Liu of Southern University of Science and Technology. The conference covers various fields of computational and experimental engineering science, including engineering mechanics, materials science, computational mathematics, computer science, simulation and modelling, and provides a platform for participants to share research results, discuss scientific issues and collaborate across disciplines.
